Not matching an option today doesn’t mean the door is closed — it means the profile isn’t positioned yet. Every factor below is one you can strengthen, and each one moves you closer to the options providers offer.
- Revenue consistency. Providers look for steady monthly deposits into a business account. Consolidate your income streams and keep them flowing through the business.
- Time in business. Many options open at the 4–6 month mark and widen from there. If you’re new, the clock is already your ally — keep operating and documenting.
- Business banking & statements. Open a dedicated business bank account and run everything through it. Several funding categories ask for 4–6 months of business bank statements at application.
- Entity & state standing. An active LLC with an EIN and a good-standing state filing signals a real, organized business. Check your Secretary of State record and keep it current.
- Credit utilization. Paying revolving balances down — ideally below 30% of your limits — is one of the fastest profile improvements available.
- Account seasoning. Established credit accounts in good standing strengthen your profile over time. Keep older accounts open and paid on time.
